Indian Air Force Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 & Airmen Group Y (Medical Assistant) Recruitment 2027

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has commenced the online registration process for Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027 and Airmen Group ‘Y’ (Medical Assistant) Intake 02/2027 under the Agnipath Scheme. The recruitment drive is open to eligible unmarried Indian male and female candidates for Agniveervayu posts, while the Medical Assistant recruitment is exclusively for eligible Indian and Gorkha (Nepal) male candidates.

The online application window will remain active from 6 July to 26 July 2026, giving aspiring candidates an opportunity to join one of India’s most prestigious defence forces. Applicants must ensure they satisfy the prescribed educational qualifications, age criteria, and medical standards before submitting their applications through the official CASB Recruitment Portal.

According to the official schedule, the STAR Phase-I Online Examination will be conducted on 22 and 23 September 2026, followed by physical fitness tests, adaptability tests, and medical examination for shortlisted candidates.

The examination fee must be paid online and is non-refundable under any circumstances.

Age Limit

Agniveervayu Intake 02/2027

Candidates should be born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010 (both dates inclusive).

Airmen Group ‘Y’ (Medical Assistant)

• 10+2 Candidates: Maximum 21 years
• Diploma / B.Sc Pharmacy Candidates: Maximum 24 years

Candidates must fulfill all age-related conditions mentioned in the official notification.

Educational Qualification

For Agniveervayu

Applicants should have passed 10+2/Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics, and English, securing the minimum marks prescribed by the Indian Air Force. Candidates possessing approved vocational or diploma qualifications are also eligible as per the notification.

For Airmen Group ‘Y’ (Medical Assistant)

Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English, or possess a Diploma, B.Pharma, or B.Sc in Pharmacy with the required percentage of marks.

Selection Process

The recruitment will be conducted in three successive phases.

Phase-I

• Online Computer-Based Examination

Phase-II

• Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
• Adaptability Test-I
• Adaptability Test-II

Phase-III

• Detailed Medical Examination

Only candidates qualifying in each stage will be considered for the next phase of the recruitment process.

Exam Pattern

The STAR Phase-I examination pattern varies according to the stream selected by the candidate.

Marking Scheme

• Correct Answer: +1 Mark
• Incorrect Answer: -0.25 Mark
• Unanswered Questions: No Marks

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Candidates shortlisted for Phase-II must successfully complete the Physical Fitness Test.

Male Candidates

• 1.6 Km Run: Within 7 Minutes

Female Candidates

• 1.6 Km Run: Within 8 Minutes

In addition, candidates must qualify the prescribed standards for:

• Push-ups
• Sit-ups
• Squats

Salary / Benefits

Selected candidates under the Agnipath Scheme will receive a fixed monthly package that increases every year during the four-year engagement. They will also receive risk and hardship allowances, medical facilities, insurance coverage, and other benefits as per Government of India rules. On successful completion of four years of service, eligible Agniveers will receive the Seva Nidhi Package.
